The subject matter actually was interesting, and it was a new way of thinking for me.
I liked the discussion based classes--everyone seemed to have a unique understanding of the readings, and it was god to hear their thoughts (though I didn't get to often. A couple weeks in we started presenting the reading and having prescribed questions, and the discussion just... died out). I really liked how it challenged me to write. Though writing still isn't my strong suit, this class helped me out a lot. |
I hated it too, somedays. I had to buy (or rent?) a 70 page textbook compiled by my professor--something unheard of in any of my usual courses. The articles in that textbook were--not great. The writers all seemed to take their own word as fact, and they used the opinions of people who agreed with them as supporting arguments.
I think there were exactly two articles backed by facts. Also: it was a challenge to write and bring myself to do things but I must say the intellectual challenge felt like it was missing |
